Everything

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said:”Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” Revelation 1:17

Jesus is all we need. What a relief to know that as we travel through life experiencing highs and lows, pleasures and pains, failures and successes our Savior is there. He’s been with His children from the beginning and will be with them at the end of time (Isaiah 41:4). Jesus is our everything. When you prepare for a long trip, you give specific attention to packing. An assortment of items makes up the required list: essentials and extras. The essentials are the ‘must haves’ while the extras are the ‘just in case.’ As we prepare to journey into the day, let’s remember that we have only one name on our list of what to take with us: Jesus.

Our lives are wrapped in the loving arms of the One who died for us. He has gone before us and will continue on after us. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation 22:13 NIV) He has everything we need to walk through our new journeys with faith. From the very first step we take, our Lord tells us not to worry.

As you drive to work, don’t be afraid, Jesus is there. When your child gets sick and your heart aches, Jesus is there. While you lose patience on the checkout line, Jesus is there. He’s there because He loves you and wants to be your everything. So picture today as vast as the heavens, waiting for you to go where the Father leads. What an awesome journey you will have! Live your dreams and wait for the desires of your heart to come true, remembering always that all things are possible for those who believe.
